Painting was done through looking out the window at the pond here in Brattleboro where deer often graze. I saw the deer a different day but put him in this view. It is is “semi” plein air in that it is done through looking out an open window instead of a photo reference. There was a lot of bright sun that day and the shadows across the snow and ice on the pond looked beautiful.
